Content & Image Usage

The photography, written guides, and other content published on maletravelguide.com are original works owned by Enable Maldives and our contributing photographers and writers. They are protected by copyright. Much of our imagery was commissioned and captured by us specifically for this site. The exception is hotel photography: images on our hotel listings are provided by the hotels themselves and remain the property of their respective owners, and we attribute them as such.
We're glad when our work is useful, and we're open to it being shared, provided you credit it correctly. The rules below set out the minimum attribution required for any reuse. Following them keeps everyone on good terms; ignoring them is copyright infringement.
Link back to us
If any image or content from this website is cited or used anywhere online (a website, blog, article, social post, or app), you must include a clear, visible, do-follow hyperlink crediting maletravelguide.com as the source.
Credit by name
If our images or content are used in print or any other non-web material (magazines, brochures, books, signage, video, presentations), visible credit must be attributed to "Malé Travel Guide".
Hotel images
Photographs on our hotel listings are provided to us by the hotels and remain the property of their respective owners; they are published here with permission and attributed to the hotel. The reuse rules on this page do not grant any rights to those images. To reuse a hotel's photography, contact the hotel directly.
How to credit us
Online: "Photo / source: Malé Travel Guide" with the words "Malé Travel Guide" linked directly to maletravelguide.com (or to the specific page the material came from).
Print and other media: "Photo: Malé Travel Guide" or "Source: Malé Travel Guide", placed near the image or content so the credit is clearly legible.
Enforcement
Using our images or content without the attribution described above is a breach of this policy and an infringement of our copyright. Where material is used without proper credit, we reserve the right to pursue all available remedies, including issuing takedown and copyright-infringement notices to the host or platform, and any further legal action necessary to protect our rights. We may also require that the unattributed use be corrected or removed.
What this does not allow
Attribution alone does not grant permission for every use. In particular, you may not:
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute our images or content as your own or as stock material.
- Use our work to imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation without our written agreement.
- Bulk-copy, scrape, or republish substantial portions of the Site.
For commercial licensing, large-scale use, or anything you're unsure about, please ask us first.
